Student Film Festival

This is a special license for student filmmakers exhibiting their work at film festivals only. You can use selected Fox songs at rates that reflect the limited rights being granted. Expect to pay between $250 and $1500 for a single song use, depending on exact use and timing.

We grant only synchronization rights to use the underlying musical composition. If you intend to use a specific recording by an artist, you must also get permission from the owner of the master recording - which is often Fox Music.

If you would like to use a Fox composition in your student film that is not found on this website, please submit each request in writing and include the following information:

  • Film Project Name
  • Projected release date of film;
  • Song Title(s);
  • Writer and publisher information for each song;
  • Recording used (i.e. from soundtrack, sung on camera)
  • Nature of Use in film (i.e. on camera vocal, background music, opening titles, end titles, etc)
  • Length of use (i.e. :30 seconds, 1 minute)
